It is because they had the most efficient system for keeping records and this invasive government pressured them to use EHR. And it has been a disaster and continues to be. There continues to this day to be very little positive about it. Scratching pencil notes on pieces of paper and then tossing them in a cardboard file was not efficient.....it sucked. A doc rarely looked at another doc's notes on you and hated to try and read them.... I had a discussion with my primary about it and he admits he doesn't like the new system but also admits the patient is getting better care.... They love getting the data they inputted out of the system all nicely plotted in curves so they can instantly see the trend lines of your personal data..... He showed my a whole bunch of my stuff I never would have seen in the past... In the comments you post above, you're speaking strictly for yourself and your politics.......
