Almost to a PERSON, his victims stated that they just couldn't BELIEVE that a Jew would DO that to another Jew. Which would imply that he used his status as a fellow, observant, Synagogue attending Jew to inspire trust. Check out their statements..

I think Madoff is a distraction from the real crimes being perpetrated by our banks and Wall Street on ALL Americans, that DWARFs Madoff's crime. Madoff was just a greedy, crooked Jew who conned a whole lot of other greedy, not so crooked but willing to look the other way, Jews. Some of his "victims" must have made many times their initial investment back while taking later suckers money in redemptions.

Because he WAS, and because he used his "Jewishness" to SELL his services, almost exclusively, to other Jews, even Synagogues - sometimes IN the Synagogues! It's well documented.
