Gold sales at a frenzy the last couple of months!
On Friday I dropped in to a local (Canadian) currency dealer and asked how gold coins were selling. The lady there told me the the last 2 months of sales were very hectic. So much for low demand. How long will it be before the increased buying, which I suspect mirrors world wide demand with tariffs being reduced in places like India and China, starts to relect in the price? I also asked about the U.S. Gold Eagles, and she said that because they are not pure, (the U.S. adds an alloy so that they are bigger than other countries gold coins - go figure) they are the only coins that have the GST (Goods and services tax) applied to them so demand is lower and they have to be special ordered. I found that very interesting.
