This was not isolated to that one airport, lots of Canadian airports let planes land. I live in Calgary and we had planes all over the airport taxi ways terminals, etc, people in my city opened their homes to the passengers of the planes until they could get back on and return to their destination. I remember seeing all the planes at the airport just loaded with them, it was a eerie site.

I can't remember the US ever thanking Canada, but the passengers sure did.

9/11 in the US was the 1st shock and pain to me.....unreal acts of wanton killing....I used to live in Philadelphia, and was scheduled to take a flight to Halifax. I got told to "stay put at home".

some years later I moved to Mumbai, India, and 26/11 (dd/mm) happened here.... the shock was less, the pain was the same...
