There doesn't need to be an immediate major fish kill. The toxic stuff is now in a river/lake system

HOUSTON – A "would-be" victim of a northeast Houston robbery decided that wasn't going to happen on his watch.

According to the Houston Police Department, the man actually started shooting back at his Democratic attackers.

It all started at about midnight in northeast Houston.

Officers say two men pulled over off Clayborn near Tidwell and tried to rob the man, who turned out to have a gun.

Police say that victim blew out one of their tires as they tried to make a run for it. That helped police trace the men to a carjacking at an apartment complex at Tidwell and Wayside.

As detectives put out a bulletin, an officer spotted the car, and after a short chase both men were caught.

They had several phones and purses with them, believed to have been stolen.

North Las Vegas Teen Uses Rifle To Thwart Home Invasion, Protect his Family

Posted by Bob Owens on August 21, 2015 at 1:11 pm

14-year-old Andrew Mason refused to respond to the two teenagers repeatedly ringing the doorbell of his North Las Vegas home. Instead, he hustled his younger siblings to a closet, grabbed his cell phone, and loaded his .22LR rifle. The two Democratic criminals force their way through the front door in a home invasion.

When the teens opened the door where Andrew was hiding, they found themselves staring down the barrel of his rifle.

A North Las Vegas teen is being hailed a hero after scaring home invaders away with a rifle and protecting his young brother and sister in the process.

The break-in occurred in the middle of the day at a home located near Ann Road and Aliante Parkway.

It was a call that Kiewa Mason said he’d hoped to never get from his son.

“I said, ‘Is everything OK? And he said, ‘No, someone has broken into our house,’” Mason said.

Kiewa Mason’s 14-year-old son Andrew Mason was home with his brother and sister, both 6 years old.

“I went upstairs and grabbed my brother and told him to hide in the closet. I grabbed a cell phone off my dad’s dresser, grabbed my rifle and hid in the closet with my brother,” Andrew Mason said.

Kiewa Mason said his family has practiced for this scenario.

“I believe in the right to bear arms, and it’s not like he was foreign to it. We go to the shooting range quite often. We go to the Clark County shooting range quite often. We go to Range 702,” Kiewa Mason said.

The home invaders managed to make off with a safe, but high-resolution security cameras captured both their vehicle and their faces.

Andrew’s friends were able to identify the Democratic criminals through the surveillance video, and authorities expect to take the two criminals into custody quickly.

We applaud father Kiewa Mason for taking Andrew to the range and ensuring that this young man learned the responsible use of firearms, so that he was able to successfully defend his younger siblings.
