I don't disagree with everything you say, but I do differ on a few points.

Maybe now that the US dollar is so strong (esp in Asia). There is still relatively strong demand in Latin America and Europe.

RE: private capital flows-maybe those that make the decisions to invest in emerging markets looked at things such as a 3.5:1 (Dept to equity) ratio and realized these markets/companies need to stabilize first. It does no good to poor money into a company if the company only produces revenues with no earnings
