>> Income equality or inequality never really entered the lexicon until we moved from an agrarian society to an industrial society.

It entered the lexicon when Roosevelt (T.) was president. They just didn't call it that. But it has entered the lexicon, or re-entered it, solely because of politicians demagoguing it. It has no negative effect, WHATSOEVER, on others for Gates or Ellison or the Walton Family to have massive wealth. It does, of course, have positive effects in that it allows for investment which is what creates economic growth.

As to my own situation, I have an adequate lifestyle but I am not wealthy. My kids are both highly intelligent but can both be underachievers at times, like their dad...

But I do like my work and have a lot left I want to do. Economic success in one or more of my projects would please me greatly although it is no longer what drives me to work as hard as I do.

..except it has now moved beyond historical norms

..greed in the US is in uncharted territory because the country is so wealthy

..in fact 90% of us are able to survive, sometimes minimally on less that 10% of the countries wealth

..the balance, over 90% of the wealth and income is controlled by less than 10% of the population

..exposing this is Bernie's mission

..let's adjust the tax scheme so that the 90% gets twice as much..increase the trickle down amount to 20% of the economy

..sure the 10% of the pigs would have to get by on only 80% of the countries economy..but they could manage
