Yeah, radar was really important. A lot of countries were working on it, but the Brits got powerful units first. The US made some great contributions, but mainly in manufacturing. The heart of their radar was the cavity magnetron. It was very complex to manufacture, but we pointed out that if you machined a set of plates and then stacked them up, they were a snap to make.And we did. More than a million of them by wars end.
