That's a good plan. The STOP message he's getting indicates it is a very rare occurrence with little troubleshooting information, but just googling it it looks like a device driver issue.

Once your OS is working why not use System Restore back to an earlier date when you weren't experiencing these symptoms?

Thanks but I tried that twice. According to what I've read, 0x00000016 indicates something in my registry is corrupted and system restore doesn't go back far enough to get rid of it. Its why I used a registry cleaner freeware........so far it seems to be working.
