Jim, Some, but I suspect not all of us, have download capabilities from their information providers AND charting systems which allow us to do many things. I have the MetaStock 6.0 - soon to be 6.5 package which, in a nutshell: - displays charts in various time periods and with various charting techniques; - allows me to apply both canned and custom indicators; - allows me to scan my database of stocks I keep up-to-date with the downloads mentioned above and select stocks with certain characteristics; - runs systems tests against stocks of my choice with canned and custom systems to see what the results would be theoretically should I use those systems for trading; - provides options support to be able to estimate options pricing for various moves... I could go on and on. By the time you are finished, you could cough up $500 easily. Of course I have lost 10x that without the package... so it doesn't seem unreasonable as a trading support! Bill
