MSFT--
that's quite a long time to stay above the IL, but this is microsoft so I'm not too surprised. Actually, I might be more comfortable using the ACT from the beginning of this year...that IL has been broken too, though it is now at around 150 so it's long gone.
Doug, in playing the IL for a short position, is the ideal time to wait for the xover back under the IL? ie wait until MSFT falls below the IL that's at 124 now?

Another one to take a look at is T (AT&T) -- if this one can make it into the low 70s, i think that's where its IL is right now. That one would fall back to the 50s...

Saw your post re: the dow. I have to concur. Just about every early warning sign has been tripped at this point.

Doug,

For a similar Microsoft situation, check out CPQ for IL violation. Let me know if you think this is valid: I used the ACT established in june, 1993. I see IL violation happening in july, 1997 -- notice the battle the stock had with it, even using it as support after crossing over.
The stock is now back at the IL and the recent activity is doing a similar thing.
I don't know if I've got the lines right, was wondering if you could take a look. If these are vailid, this one's probably going to be seeing the 20s when it takes the next fall...

thanks,
dave
