The 45 year USD Quarterly chart -- the whole "shootin' " match since the Bretton-Wood Breakdown and the birth of our free floating currency world back in 1972.... and telex machines.... and nary a PC ..... a Black -Scholes Option pricing model...... in sight..... Not even sure if you could get a TI programmable calculator back in early 1972.

A key take away from the past 12 to 24 months..... look at the 4 consecutive Quarters from 2013 to 2014 where the Quarter Close was exactly on the median band on the BB 20 period 2 period calculation.... notice especially how very tight we were coiled on that exact area in a very tight range for over 9 months.

any time a meaningful liquid market gets that tight and coiled... we have a significant breakout which will ultimately result ... and it's the exact time to utilize a trend following trading system....... during those periods utilizing reversion to the mean mechanical systems are the way to go.

Again the Quarterly Elder Impulse action and the Power above the BB confirms the major trend is up in the USD.

and we again see the massive Strength in the USD back in1984-1985 going into the G-5 plaza accord... with the 164.72 high....... back at that time the $/DEM was one of the deepest currency markets and the buck topped out at 3.43 Deutsche Marks.
