Never saw Trump coming. I guess he got tired of being dismissed as not a serious candidate. So he ran, just to spite the talking heads. Either he, or more likely someone else, knew enough about American history to spot the growing populism fever out there so he knew how to seize the moment.

I suspect it was someone else. Trump just likes the attention........I doubt he is a very good student of history.

What makes it interesting is that Trump has latched onto the crazy thread that is always embedded in a populist wave. They are generally what is left once the established parties grab off the good parts. Because populist waves alway explode in a cloud of crazy.

How long does an 'explosion in a cloud of crazy' last? Its been going on for some time........ever since Obama ran for his first term.

You don't understand what is happening. From that poll today, the most important question was the last one, out of all the 83 questions --

When asked what type of experience is needed to be a president: 73% of Republicans answered "Outside DC", and
77% of Democrats answered "DC Experience."

And 55% of Independents said "Outside DC".

This is a B.F.D. If Trump fails, it will leave Carson and Fiorina standing. And Carson is the most liked, most trusted, and among the least well known in the poll.

The first words coming into people's heads when Hillary Clinton is mentioned, in descending order of number of responses:

Liar - 178
Dishonest - 123
Untrustworthy - 93
Experience - 82
Strong - 59
Bill - 56
Woman - 47
Smart 31
Crook 21
Untruthful - 19
Criminal - 18
Deceitful - 18
Democrat 16

and so on.

CARSON had the highest net favorable of ALL candidates Republican and Democrat.

I don't know if it is representative but the Democrat part is in total disarray at this moment.

>> I guess he got tired of being dismissed as not a serious candidate.

Look, he had threatened to run several times and caved each time. There was no reason to take him seriously.

That does not, however, mean he isn't going to be a strong candidate. Carson certainly has better credentials in terms of likability and credibility. But right now, you guys need to worrying about your own situations, because unless you've got another Obama stashed away, I think this might turn out be a more difficult road than the last two.

Never saw Trump coming.

Try to remember this one simple sentence. Hope it makes your day.

"Second, Mr. Trump’s support is not limited to Republicans, not by any means."

NOONAN: AMERICA IS SO IN PLAY...

NOTE: Read the 2nd half of the article if you really believe the phony liberal talking points about "no Hispanic support". HTH
