You're wrongly assuming the issue here is a lack of capital availability...

Not sure that I said that.
However, there isn't unlimited capital for multiple projects and that capital is not being replaced due to the commodities price slump effecting Teck's earnings.

My response was to "anther nail in the coffin for Schaft Creek?" by Brundall.

I feel that this deal with Goldcorp is a positive development for Teck overall.

I think it is safe to say that Relincho was ahead of Shaft in the pipeline and this deal with Goldcorp makes it that much more attractive.

Yes commodities are in the tank right now and Schaft may not make sense at this juncture. Lets see what comes of the optimization studies before we determine that.

Teck decided to keep 75% of Schaft Creek because they see value in it going forward. I do as well.
If they don't spend/save 2.75B on Relincho that allows that capital to possibly be reallocated elsewhere.

I guess I am more optimistic than some. I know some have a high ACB with CUU and they are understandably not happy. Thankfully I am not in that deep. I am comfortable with my investment and the risk/reward. I understand that I may be waiting years. Hopefully not.

Copper and other commodities will turn at some point. They always do.
Time will tell. Only it has that talent.
All the best,
