The collapse happened when it became apparent Obama would win the election. Just be thankful Bush was still there to create TARP, which literally saved the economy from a total collapse and set it on the road to recovery. Unfortunately, as with the Iraq War, Obama managed to snatch defeat from the jaws of victory on the economy after Bush saved it. Tough to be a Democrat, isn't it...
