On the K6, I don't think cooling to ambient temperature will get you beyond about 266 MHz. Why? The device is switching speed limited, not heat limited. If you could apply more than 3.5 volts, it would have a high enough current flow in its gates to go beyond 266 MHz, but unfortunately I think the transistors will break down beyond 3.5 volts. It may be that the real breakdown point is 3.6 or 3.7, but you're definitely playing with fire here. I've read about over-voltaging the classic Pentiums to up to 5 volts.

Apparently supercooling (way below ambient) speeds up the switching speeds.

If you take one of the new 266 MHz chips (not quite available yet), designed to run at 2.1 volts, you should be able to up its voltage considerably more before breakdown levels.
