I was replying to someone named "synchro" who had written:

"On the other hand...telling these people that they need to have a system of rule of law is not being arrogant or culturally insulting."

Both Tom & I took offense to this person's statement. (If you click
on the number beside the name in a reply, you can follow the thread
of comments regarding a particular sub-topic.)

It started when I questioned some Wall Street Journal reporter's comments. As I have said before, I have NO political axe to grind.
I enjoy economics, and investments. Arguing about politics is like
arguing with your wife..... you can never win. <g>

I'll check out the topic.

Best Regards,

Doug

I just read highlights on the Asia thread. It is informative and there seems to be a diversity of input.

To my simple mind, a topic the size of "Asia" is just too big.
There are at least 7-8 totally different economies, and as it was
pointed out, to lump all "Asians" together, would be the same as lumping all "non-Asians" together.

Even China is a very diverse country as one travels from region to region. I've attempted to learn about HK & China from afar for 12
years. The only thing I am certain of is I know very very little.

On the other hand, you do have a very accurate understanding of electricity. Even in the U.S., to get a 220 or 440 line run into your
home is not an everday occurence. (I still use an old-fashioned razor to shave, just in case I do go overseas. One less converter to buy. <g>)

Best Regards,

Doug
