If we had to go to war with the thing, we'd keep them in the hangers so they wouldn't be shot down, because they're really expensive, while not being as good as enemy planes! As a result, we'll probably keep making F-16's and A-10's, as well as F-35's. We can't really pull the plug on it, because of all the foreign partners that also have skin in the game.
