Minimizing online accounts ...

<< Just something to mention regarding passwords. One thing I do is try to do is keep my online accounts to a minimum. Every website wants you to start an account with them, but many aren't necessary. >>

That's very sage and sensible, Josh. As I mentioned before I (audit and) prune my LP stored passwords 3 or 4 times a year. Despite recently doing that I still have a fair amount (109) of online accounts stored. There is a reason I created each of them and have kept them even though perhaps as much as 50% are infrequently used, some extremely infrequently. Both creation and deletion require a conscious value judgement. Bottom line though. is if there's no real reason to keep them, best to get rid of them, sometimes immediately after creation as a result of a rethink, and if there is no sound reason to register and create the account in the 1st place best not to create them. I do think that anyone using any password manager should inspect the accounts stored and prune judiciously from time to time.

Cheers, - Eric L. -
