David,

RUMINT is that Gorby may have been pressured to recluse himself from being the international front man for Y2K due to pressure from the Clinton Adminstration.

Y2K is a political and economic "hot potato". You want to say enough about it to get companies to take it serious and fix the problem. But then again, you don't want to be TOO overt about the issue and destroy confidence in the equities and financial markets.

Watch the smart money start to move into Y2K issues before
January-February when more and more attention is paid to the economic costs and impacts on corporate earnings. Actually, I think we are starting to see it occur as I type. KEA is breaking out and I consider it to be one of the Bellwhethers of the Y2K sector.

Regards,

Ron
