or do you now have a drive with no free space???? No, the program will have all the space marked as "free". The free space will have information on it, as all hard drives do after a while, but the only areas that a free are marked (flagged) as not being used to store information. The free space has random info on it now, instead of erased files with just a flag or marker identifying them as "deleted". The "erased" files could still be read, and that is how recovery programs work.
