Yes, that's one of the reasons they purchased Tandem.

As far as a contributing factor yet... I'm not sure.
It looks like Compaq has restated historical income statements
to reflect the Tandem acquisition. The old 10Q's no longer
match the updated numbers on their website or with other
wesites that publish quartely trend data.

Is this how it's done after an acquisition? Do the SEC
filings have to be restated?

Lee,

CPQ stated that the margin improvement was in part due to the Tandem acquisition. It was either the conference call or the 10Q.

Tandem is moving upstream and will be competing with SUNW, HPW and IBM in the high end market for servers.
