"They believed a rational God created the universe and established laws" Nothing there that justifies your original assertion. All scientists believe that the universe can be studied in a scientific manner to discover whatever law and order goes to determine how things are and how things work. The fact that some Christians might have believed in the scientific method does NOT make science a Christian Movement! LOL! The fact is that many Christians abhor Reason! One of the greatest and most revered Christians of all time had this to say about Reason: “Reason is a whore, the greatest enemy that faith has; it never comes to the aid of spiritual things, but more frequently than not struggles against the divine Word, treating with contempt all that emanates from God.” Martin Luther The facts are clear: The more intelligent and rational the person--the more "scientific" in thinking...the more likely to be atheist. The top scientists (in the National Academy of Scientists) are almost all atheists. Very few of them try to dispute the obvious fact that Genesis is a creation myth.
