"In fact, the US is the only major country doing well economically at the present time"

That's Obama's fault. We can do as badly as everybody else if he just gets out of the way. Worse even, cuz... American Exceptionalism.

Sour grapes?

I have eighteen free and clear houses my friend. Homestead is almost paid off worth a lot. Own some 120 acres next to industrial park one of the fast growing areas my state also free and clear

You guys on the left as stupid as the right wingers in 2006 thinking this economy is sound. Only replace GWB's ownership society with ZIRP and Obama's freeloader economy doubling since 2008..

MM speaks the truth in more macro ways that are hurting what still remains of the honest working class this century..

Oh, I'm not sour grapes. I love QE and ZIRP. It has made me even wealthier. I do have a lot of guilt, though. I feel sorry for the 99% who are perpetually screwed by our trickle down system and then are lied to through non-stop propaganda until they even believe these economic policies are good for them. It's just really unfair that the 1% are reaping massive gains at the expense of the 99%. In addition, I feel bad for my kids' and grand kids' generations, because we are consuming all the wealth of this country and leaving a mountain of debt behind for them to handle. We are truly a nation that is eating our young.

But me? Sour grapes? No. I just did a tally of everything, including updating my budget so I could give myself a raise, since I retired recently. I found that my average expenses increased 13% over 2 years and that my health care bills increased 20%, even though I have actually lived more frugally and not taken big vacations recently. But even with that, my net worth increased 44% over the last 2 years. For me, this Fed and their QE and ZIRP have been nothing short of fantastic. I'm retiring wealthy and happy and will have plenty left over to leave something big for my kids when I'm gone.

Too bad for the rest of the country, though. At least I can say that I tried to warn all of you on these threads and tried to reason with you all. When the 99% are left with nothing, what will happen to our country? Will they put up with the injustice of it all? I doubt it. This country doesn't know how to be poor and how to bounce back from it. When there is nothing left, it will lead to great upheaval. We're only seeing the beginnings of it now and I'll live to see the outcome.

Socialism does not work and it never has. The fact is that Democrats are no longer really Democratic...they are Socialist. A centrally planned economy lead by the Fed and by the Democrats is destroying our wealth. If Hillary wins, then God help this once great country, because 8 years of that incompetent and corrupt witch will be the end of this country.
