I was having a pretty good morning until I read that!

Part of me is happy that this unselfish child's wish was granted and I'm sure any one of us would have pawned off a few shares to help. But a much bigger part of me is deeply saddened by his plight. I cannot imagine his impoverished situation. It is inconceivable to me that a child, in such a world of plenty, should experience such grief.

Here we sit anxiously waiting for our ship to come in and these poor children, who have nothing, want only for others. Too many continue to suffer; especially the helpless children who did little or nothing to cause their own problems.

This is a time for giving. Get off your ass and do something for someone else. Maybe we can learn from their innocence and lack of greed. Shame on us!
