The requirement is that able-bodied persons have to work for 6 hours.

I recall when I was on food stamps for a few months between jobs before graduating college - you had to gather signatures from 2-3 job interviews per week. Now I hear you just click a button on a webpage and claim you looked for a job. Working 6 hours at the local shelter or some other job is a great idea to receive free money - helps the community and encourages people to get off their asses. Besides if as this report suggests - the ones that are lying on the forms fail to do any work and leave the system saving the tax payers money - even better.

Uh, what happens if you are in a rural area? With no jobs to volunteer for?
