Yaacov - Re: " I told him then maybe the should
ask Communist Chinese for 60 billion dollars interest free lone! "

What a great comeback. How did your Korean friend respond to that?

Re: "Yet, you have ungreatful piss-ants like France that forget they own a huge un-paid debit to the people of the United States."

Maybe we in the U.S. should read some of the French History books - as written by the French!

Yaacov:

Re: INTC/France

Have been off the boards, back home for a week, then a vacation. Can't agree more re: Piss-ants of France, detest that govt. almost as much as the Intelaphobes who bow down to J. Sanders & Co. have been away, return to see INTC holding over $70. BTW-ad in Phila. papers confirms BBY and Circuit City OUT OF Pentium 166mg & > desktops, "apologized" to all customers for the inconvenience. Sales are thru the roof, Dell having banner season with 233 Laptops. '98 will be the year of rebound, we will all sleep soundly and shorties will be slammed in blink of an eye. Also feel good about AMAT, enuff negative ANALysts will make these stks move from these bargains.

Will post on "Wealth" bd. but wish you & family Happy, Healthy prosperous New Year.

Kind Regards, Royco

Off Subject... In general, what you say about French gratitude to the US, and the role of the Resistance in WW 2 is all too true. Perhaps I am biased, because I admit to a great fondness for France, but I believe that many of the more thoughtful and educated French people don't share the myopic views of their government. On a one to one basis, I have nearly always been treated well in France ( they even tolerate my feeble attempts at speaking Frenglish.) When it's really important and when they think it is more than a pointless PR ploy, they usually stand with the U.S. The rest of the time they are self-appointed gadflies. Good or bad, the French are always somehow different and unique.
I believe it was Mark Twain who said that if you take a cold hungry dog off the streets , the dog will love you forever. If you do the same to most men, they will hate you for it.
