Yes, lots of headlines about crumbling infrastructure. In the meantime the percentage of bridges that are structural deficient has declined to less than half of what it was.

But in one way its true. The infrastructure is crumbling. It always was and probably always will be. You can and will always be able to find pieces of infrastructure in rotten shape that are getting worse. And even the stuff in good shape is "crumbling" in that its declining over time, maybe literally crumbling in microscopic ways. Things don't last forever.
