The G2 Pricing is end user list price for a 10 port hub with Optics included. This is acutally configurable as either 2 5 port hubs or 1 10 port hub, it hs full A/L capability and can have the same 128 devices everyne else can have per loop. This product is targeted at the clustering market, as we are partners with Novell and Microsoft on their clustering projects. The goal is to sell Optical Ports for the price of copper ports, and we are very close. We have the lowest priced optical port hubs out there right now.

Switches really come into play when you increase the number of CPU's on the loop. What typically happens is that the loop gets saturated and latency goes up. Then it's time for a switch. There are a large number of High DIsk COnfigurations (Archival) that hubs do great on. What the ultimate configuration is depends on traffic. The ability to attach loops to switches means that Hubs end up being concentrators for switches to reduce total sysem costs.

You mentioned earlier that G2 was selling a hub at $499. Does this price include the optics, and if so,
fibre or copper. If not, what would an average configuration price out to be. Does your hub have A/L
capability? If so, what is the maximum amount of storage that can be hung off of one. I am trying to
get an idea what the target configurations are for hubs, after which a switch would be required.
