She is a horrible administrator- but I resent the trashing of female politicians because of their looks (men too- though it's not done as much with men- although Christy made a tempting target...)

I don't know how many of you remember the absolutely disgusting comments people made about Janet Reno. I remember reading post after post of utterly useless and stupid drivel- all aimed at the way she looked. It's one thing to disagree with positions taken by a political candidate, or appointee, or politician- but it's moronic and stupid to go after them on their looks- and think anyone with any brains will give a shit. Looks are not linked to IQ- in fact, the more you meet people, the more that seems like an inverse relationship. It's always amused me on SI that people who've never met, and who have no idea what other people look like, go off on people they don't like (seriously, it seems) on looks. It's so stupid it makes you want to weep for the imbecility of it all. When I first joined SI I thought all the insults were just a joke- but it turns out some of the folks were serious about it all (can you imagine?) But there is no shortage of irrational anger monkeys on SI- in fact their seems to be a surplus. And they never tire. Even when recycling insults from 15 years ago, they never tire. I can't imagine being that boring. It seems like one of the circles of hell to me. But hell is definitely a subjective thing (and in some cases, it IS other people).
