Money is a universal motivator. He's going to head up the wine division of Sam's Clubs. Or as he put it, "twice the money and half the cost of living". Actually I run across Californians fairly often. Mostly retirees, but some working folk brought in by Wal-Mart. Also, northwest Arkansas bears very little resemblance to Arkansas. Almost no black folk to speak of and few Hispanic. It's a rapidly growing part of the country and most folk are transplants. The most affluent part of the state by far. I was in Salt Lake for a month this winter. So mild. Really wonderful. Came back to spend the worst winter Little Rock has ever seen. (I was in Little Rock with my mother.) Frozen pipes and sky high heat bills. Dark gray days that chill one to the bone. Utah winters are so much better. Even the normal ones.
