We simply disagree, Steve. I consider the explanations for Sanders' polling successes quite different from Trump's. Simply shouldn't be lumped together.

As for Carson, I really have no serious answer. Chuck Todd offered a tentative thought, not a worked out theory, this morning on Morning Joe which is about as good as anything else. He sees Carson as a placeholder for Republicans who want to trash the Republican establishment but are turned off by Trump's style. Just waiting for a better horse to back. Carson's support will disappear when such appears. Or the inevitable winnowing begins to take effect. In other words, he's holding the weakest hand.
