Eisenhower did a terrific job of deNazifying West Germany but he was less successful deNazifying the United States and England. Of course he was not able to have any impact on East Germany, Hungary, Poland and the rest of the Russian Eastern Bloc which retain many of the prejudices ruthlessly rooted out in West Germany. Many East Germans used to make unflattering comparisons between the Nazi's and the East German government with their Stasi. Many couldn't tell that there was a difference apart from the new designs for the uniforms.
