..as another measure of scale, it is interesting to think of Euro countries in terms of land mass ..the British Isles total land mass, including Ireland, is about the same as the US state of New Mexico Germany is about the same size as Montana, and France is a bit smaller than Texas ...why it is incumbent on the massive US to absorb more of the displaced refugees, many of whom, as you accurately pointed out, are in that unfortunate circumstance as a result of a war, that was for all intents and purposes, simply a political re-election strategy for an unpopular US president ..but as our republicans are wont to do, they wreck things, refuse to fix anything, and keep screaming to have the keys back again
