and introduced alot of problems, according to the link I posted. I think EI is Gates' step one towards self-aware software entities. You have to excuse the problems.

95. New security precludes downloading from certain sites regardless of degree of configuration. The lowest possible security parameters is to no avail. I'm working with an engineer at Realnetworks on this problem and will give you the results. Certain dll's and ocx's have been changed as part of the upgrade. This can have untold side effects including blocked disk i/o from a remote source. Specifically, I can't download the new version of Realplayer from Realnetworks and I can't download research papers from xxx.lanl.gov.

>>What problems are you having? 4.01 fixed a lot of problems I was having with 4.0.<<

Robert, do you or anyone else use Etrade? I cannot use their interactive Java charts with IE4. Communicator poses no problem. I'm running NT and have tried disabling the Java JIT compiler as the Etrade message below states and IE4 can't even download the applet without freezing up. NT is nice in that I can just quit the app, lot more stable than '95.

Microsoft Internet Explorer
After launching an applet, if you go back to the browser and link to several other pages, the applet will disappear within four or five links. The only solution to this Microsoft bug is to return to Investor Tools page and relaunch the Java applet. If you're using Internet Explorer and the applet "crashes," you should try disabling the Java JIT compiler. To do this, select "Options..." under the View menu, go to the Advanced tab, then uncheck the check box titled "Enable Java JIT compiler."
