Yes, John, I do agree that it's really disappointing DISH
has not got their product in any of the big chain stores
except for Sears. Why aren't they being sold in Best Buy,
Circuit City, etc? And even though they're the fastest growing
dbs company, they don't seem to put many news releases out.
If DISH really aims to compete with DirecTV (which is valued
in the Billions), they can't be in one-fifth as many stores.
Do you know how many shares there are outstanding of DISH?
I've seen conflicting reports, one said like 40,000,000 ane
the other said like 15,000,000. I've left a message with their
I.R. department to find out, buy either way this is a very low
# of shares outstanding. This past month has been disappointing
for shareholders, and it would be nice to know more about their
strategy to improve shareholder value. I did read an article in
IBD that stated that DISH was a likely acquistion target (after
the other deal fell through).

"slow bleed" in stock price could be due to broader market instability
(even though DISH has limited Asian exposure, the markets don't
seem to care about this right now.. they're taking everybody down),
and also because of recent secondary stock offerings which would
have a dilutive effect. But the gradual decline is indeed disturbing,
looks terrible from a technical perspective, I'd rather they just
took the stock down all at once and got it over with.

I am also a little concerned in the lack of marketing direction.
I like the new Christmas ads, but not seeing their system in major
retail stores is annoying.
Also they have announced new channels (some new premium movie
channels, and also Fox Sports), but you're right this does leave
a lot of unused bandwidth in the new satellite.

Any other thoughts regarding this?
