The 'Martian Chronicles' is a great book. Just like several - but not all, in particular not the latest - books by Ray Bradbury. I also loved it back then as a teenager, those Hot Dog Stands the Immigrants put in there were quite something too!
'the Greening of Mars' is also quite interesting, actually. In particular so how the 2nd and in particular 3rd generations of those born on Mars became better fit incl. cosmic rays radiation hardened... Just a bit more than using a sun protection cream :)

I might want to catch the Matt Damon movie coming out soon, if the reviews are good.

They're talking a possible Oscar for Damon.
