Vaporware may mean = B-CDMA which functions in 5 to 15 MHz bandwidth and was developed by IDC/Siemens/Samsung. W-CDMA is going to use 5mhz. As in any technology there is always the fear of a better mouse trap. Two giant mouse trap builders are committed to this and they are Samsung and Siemens. Their feelings are reflected on their Web sites. W=wide and B=broadband , call it what you may. If the shoe fits, wear it.

Actually Tom, I haven't said anything about other people being in "denial", unless you can show me the post. I did state in an earlier post that others were downplaying the significance of the ETSI vote, but that was more stating my opinion that it was significant for W-CDMA to get 59% of the vote.

I can however point to post #6591 of the QCOM thread where you state that it's a "fact" that Ericsson can't develop a W-CDMA system. I'd like you to give me the URL (or reference the other industry literature) where the tests of an ERICY W-CDMA system show that it doesn't work...

All I've advocated is that people don't assume that Ericsson can't build a wideband system and that only the all-powerful QCOM can. You're entitled to your opinion that Ericsson's system is vaporware, as I am mine that it most likely isn't. But until you can show me an ERICY system that doesn't work, or a deadline missed, or a product roll-out that has been delayed, then my position has a whole lot more validity than your "factual" one does.
