Earning season can't come soon enough. With all the tech's poised to possibly pre-announce earnings shortfalls, the drillers will sparkle with none, and then go on to more than likely beat the estimates.

When this happen, momentum players, if they are true to form, will rush back in to chase those stocks that beat their estimates. It should create a fairly large stampede.

As well, savvy individual investors are taking selective advantage of well beaten up stocks now. If the institutions come back in to get on the bandwagon before earnings, we should move up nicely as well.

In the meantime, it does hurt short-term, but I've mentally moved over to the longer term camp (to save my sanity).

If you're concerned, you could hedge your position by selling longer term calls. Let time work for you.
