I smell LOTS of rats....but I need to see the actual financials before I decide. The key is revenue....if Corel took back 50 mil in product...AND did not recognise reveue for product it shipped into the channel, then Q1 may be good as the sales out figures are reported by the distributors. The 50 mil was recognised as revenue based on Corels old revenue recog. policy and had to be de-booked....but the product that was shipped in to replace it would not be recognised under the new policy until it flows through the channel. On the whole I think they have a good product, and MSFT is charging LARGE $$ for theirs. I think Corel can succeed...but their advertising is shabby, and their cash situation still deeply concerns me. I think they need to get more OEM deals and more corporate licensing deals. If they can do that they may be in good shape in the long run. I still think Cowpland is a crook, but so is Gates and Ellison etc, etc. Cowpland is just more blatent about it.
