Thanks for the reply. I read that forbes article quite some time ago before I signed up with Datek. I just went back and read it again. While the article certainly raises a flag about the pitfalls of trading NASDAQ stocks, I don't find it to be particularly instructive. What I'm trying to determine is how things are SUPPOSED to work when I put in an order. If the market makers have some special status that allows them to skip over an order I have placed, or if for some reason the market does not see it, I should know that. If the MMs are out to get anybody who dares to enter orders within the spread, then I probably better avoid doing it. I have no dilusions of beating them at their game. I'm just trying to get a clear understanding of what is going on.
