Hank,

I see from your description you like the blue chips. Are you still holding the stocks you listed MO, JNJ, etc.

I too hold a core group of good quality companies that I pick up when they sell at bargain prices. That is why I bought Dell late last week. Not many companies as profitable as Dell and selling for 20 times earnings. Their margins should stay intact as component prices come down and demand for pc's is not going to stop near term.

Around my core holdings I trade some small and mid cap companies. Currently I have no shorts, as I feel the market will bounce from these levels. My last short was Yurie Systems which I did alright on (25% +).

I don't see your rational for shorting Dell. If you believe the market will fall from these levels why are you holding the bule chips (unless you have unloaded them as well)? If any stocks do well it will be the ones that can make a decent profit and are selling at reasonble valuation = Dell.

Thanks
Mattie

McNabb,

You have shown your lack of class by your disingenuousness and exploitation of emotional arguments in support of your positions. We all know that markets can be moved by fear and greed, but they always go to the fundamentals as these emotions work themselves out. BRE-X would be a better stock for you than DELL.
