I haven't read much of VIC.

I don't have a problem when idea clearly does not fit me.

My problem is with ideas that do somewhat fit me, but people who know much more about the area find pros/cons that I don't know how to evaluate. (Examples would be IBM, DE, MON, etc.). Then I either have to close my eyes, say "well, these guys are smart, but I will still buy (or not buy) because ... well not sure why".

An alternative would be to get more knowledgeable than the other guys. But that's where it becomes tough with diversified portfolio - not enough time and motivation. Also I'm not really good in digging into details and pursuing all kind of scuttlebutt. "What is exactly IBM's revenue from mainframe software in Asia? How fast is it growing? How much of it is being replaced by cloud services?", "What is the percentage of Monsanto sales affected by ethanol consumption drop?", etc. I don't see myself doing the kind of super deep analysis as the guy I pointed you to re: VRX (and yeah, surprisingly he's not short or long after spending all this time on it).

To be honest, I am not that interested in businesses. That's part of the reason I don't particularly want to invest in micro caps and talk to the management (see my other answer to you :)). I really don't care why they expanded their pet care facility to Austin, TX and will that lead to 6% growth or margin decline. Which is why I'm not a good concentrated investor, I guess. :)

What's "JG" - sorry I did not understand the reference?

Anyway, Saturday morning brain dump. ;) Off to the chores.
