Are you that thick? Military submarines as a routine matter measure temperature profiles, depth, sonar properties, and bottom profiles for their own purposes...at the poles they profile ice thickness.......they just don't float underwater and listen for Russian subs....... You are woefully behind the curve on this topic and I can't figure out what your agenda is..... Other instruments are placed in the water and remain in static positions such as shown in the picture.....
