Haim,

A strong rule of thumb is to ALWAYS close your position (unless the position is so far out ofthe money)...too many strange things go on during the weekend for someone to chance hanging onto open option postions at the end of the day on expiration.

I would think you would want to write puts on something several months out and out of the money? Would normally save you that grief!
