Ever since Argo became operational in the early part of the century, it has become the go to place for this data.

Well, that would be this one that we're 15 yrs into. So how are they showing subsurface ocean heat content back to the 1950's?

BTW Argo goes down to 2000 meters, which happens to be less than half the average depth of the world's oceans. And it's the deep ocean which is supposed to be heating fastest according to the ocean heat content claims. Which are based on some data, a lot of estimation, and model based studies. See the references to Antonev et al and Levitus et al.
