I think you are referring to the address book found in your email client.

Microsoft Outlook and Mozilla Thunderbird are two popular email programs.

What kind of software are you using?

I read my email online, however for someone to help you, they will need to know how you read your email.

Transferring an address book file or folder and file desktop --> laptop...

Ken: I think the answer is yes but what kind of address book file do you have on your desktop? Presumably not your T-Bird address book (abook.mab) saved in your T-Bird profile? Best an easiest way to transfer the file or folder and file would be to use Dropbox or a synch client like it, but copying from a CD or flash drive would also work.

The T-bird address book is here ...
