Dell is trading at too high a PE for a commodity hardware manufacturer.

I think they are going to see a dramatic slowdown in growth during 1998 that will drive the stock back down to a fair valuation in the range of $30 to $50 per share.

I see CPQ gaining total dominance in the sub-$1k PC and the high end server markets. Companies like Dell will be left struggling for a vanishing middle.
