ATM will rule the backbone. IP will rule the desktop. ATM in the campus makes little sense since you can always throw bandwidth at any issue. You can't do this in the WAN which is why ATM, and it's ability to dynamically allocate bandwidth to disparately time senstive traffic, will be required and will thrive in that environment.

So Dennis, I do agree about the WAN... I think we all do. But in the campus... ATM will continue to be viewed as needless technology.
