That is total baloney. Doesn't happen and didn't back in the 70's either. If a family quit going to church or quit paying their tithe the church would send out child-protective services to investigate whether the family was still moral enough to keep the adopted child. churches are surviving just fine. Not every church was involved in the scheme. Some have new money making schemes like for profit schools. Church schools are drains, there's not some big profit in them.
